Been looking forward to this for a while, I don't think I'll be able to relate to the characters as well as Band of brothers, but there's some good actors up there.
Bates [6th AB] On Leave: Hey mate, it's me Stuka. Sorry about everything last time, I realised how much of a prick I was, shits happened since then so I've changed. Really sorry.
Eagle: It's okay bruv hows the clan?
Bates [6th AB] On Leave: Ye good, so you still a fat prick?
Its total BS that its only airing on Sky Movies. I really don't want to torrent it 9th Para Bn., A Company 1st Platoon - Platoon Sergeant Sergeant A. Barnes
Agreed Barnes, we should write a fucking complaint and get the rights to BBC or atleast back to HBO because they have deals with BBC...
I dont think it will be as good as BoB, thats not possible and with the involment of women in this movie, I think it will be a bit over the top with the "Lonely soldiers + women = Awquard silence" (Dont know how to spell awquard)
Corporal Derrick Alvarez 6th Airborne Division 3rd Parachute Brigade 9th Parachute Battalion Able Company MG Trainer 1st Platoon, 2nd Section IC
BoB had small parts where women played a non-physical role, like when Nixon becomes depressed and relies heavily on alcohol after his wife leaves him.
Anyway, like we were discussing before, Alvarez. The Pacific theater was a lot more horrible, the Japanese would throw themselves into death, appearing from anywhere. It probably did a number to a soldier's mentality.
Besides, they're only focusing more on women because it's based on 3 people this time. I have to say, I didn't like that
I just hope they pull of the "Easy Company" icon they so sucessfully created in BoB. I think the first episode should be based in a USMC training camp (I'm 99% sure its based around Marines) like BoB did with Toccoa.
This sounds like more of a series about the soldiers, rather than what BoB did, telling us the story of Easy. I think this one will definately be more movie like though.
ps: I do hope for Fisher's sake theres some memorable quote in it 9th Para Bn., A Company 1st Platoon - Platoon Sergeant Sergeant A. Barnes
